GOAL and REMEZCLA Team up to Bring Copa America Content to U.S Gen-Z and Hispanic Fans
Footballco has announced that its global soccer flagship, GOAL, will exclusively power coverage of the 2024 CONMEBOL Copa America tournament with Remezcla, a leading Latine lifestyle digital publisher and media brand reaching more than 25 million readers monthly. This is the first official partnership powered by Remezcla Media Group, the largest unified solution representing the next generation of U.S. Hispanic media.
During the 2024 Copa America, Footballco and Remezcla will collaborate to bring an unprecedented mix of soccer and lifestyle content to young Latine fans, with curated GOAL content appearing on Remezcla’s sports vertical and social platforms, covering fan stories, highlights and original storytelling for Hispanic fans. GOAL will deliver several hundred pieces of original reporting to the Remezcla platform before, during and after the tournament.
Remezcla, which reaches more Gen-Z and millennial Hispanics than any other digital platform, is an established publisher of Latine culture content and already champions Latine athletes, representation and culture around soccer through its content. GOAL is the most popular dedicated soccer site in the US by audience, reaching more than 30 million monthly fans across its web, app and social channels.
The partnership will also see the launch of original social video series documenting Hispanic culture and fervor surrounding Copa America. These will include Futbol Cities, a social video series that will capture the diverse soccer culture in the tournament’s biggest host cities - from the fandom and food to the stadiums and everything that drives the passion of local soccer culture. Futbol Cities will run across GOAL’s social and digital channels with amplification across Remezcla’s owned-and-operated platforms.
Throughout the tournament, GOAL and Remezcla will also partner with soccer-passionate lifestyle influencers to amplify and incorporate their content into the original content.
Jason Wagenheim, Footballco’s CEO of North America, said: “This is a perfect partnership that puts our authoritative soccer coverage in front of a highly-engaged, new audience interested in following Copa America this summer. From our research, we know that 89% of US Hispanics on our platform are very interested in the tournament, and our new collaboration with Remezcla accelerates our opportunity to reach an even larger audience than we can on our own.”
“Our mission at Remezcla is all about enhancing the experience for Gen-Z and young Latine audiences,” shared CEO and Founder Andrew Herrera. “This partnership is a huge win that allows us to connect with these audiences through both the language of soccer, and the excitement of Copa America.”
